A Subtle Revolution On Why My Book Entering the NUST Library Means Everything

Image
I stared at the email for a few minutes now from Booklovers Namibia. It reads, in part: "Good news: we delivered the NUST Library order on 21 October, and your book Shadows Of The Cradle is now in the collection of the Prof Tjama Tjivikua Library at the Namibia University of Science and Technology." As an author, you dream of bestseller lists, of viral tweets, of seeing your book in the hands of strangers on a train. But there is a different kind of thrill, a much quieter, deeper one that comes when your work enters an institution of learning. Writing Shadows Of The Cradle was a labor of love, history, and deep reflection. I wrote it because I believe in the power of awareness, in the necessity of looking back at the shadows we carry so we can understand the light we are walking toward. To see that work leave my laptop and physically land in Windhoek, Namibia, inside a university library, feels surreal. The Prof Tjama Tjivikua Library is not just a building. It is a hub for ...

THE MEDITATION SCAM: The Forge in the Silence

Image
It has told you that meditation is a way to relax, to de-stress, to find a moment of calm in a chaotic day. And it is. But that is like describing the ocean as a place to get your feet wet. The deeper truth is that meditation is not a spa treatment for the mind. It is a forge. It is the primordial workshop where the raw materials of your consciousness are melted down, purified, and reshaped into something entirely new. This is not the meditation you learned in apps. This is not the meditation of guided visualizations and soothing music. This is the meditation of the mystic, the sage, the alchemist. This is the meditation that changes not just your mood, but your reality. What You Will Discover in This Article: · The fundamental misunderstanding of meditation that keeps millions trapped in peaceful but powerless practice. · The concept of ontological craftsmanship, how meditation literally reshapes the fabric of your experience. · The alchemy of emotion: transforming fear into courage, ...

How One Line of Code Killed a Patient While the Monitor Said 'Everything Is Fine

Image
Lagos, Nigeria. 3:47 AM The monitor said the patient was stable. Heart rate: 72. Blood pressure: 120/80. Oxygen saturation: 98%. Every number was green. Every number was perfect. At 3:52 AM, the patient's heart stopped. The monitor didn't know. The sensor had failed at 3:46 AM. It stopped sending data. But the monitor didn't know how to say "I don't know." So it said "72 beats per minute." It said "Everything is fine." It said "Nothing to see here." The nurse checked again at 4:15 AM. Still 72. She wrote "Patient stable" in the chart. At 4:30 AM, the patient's daughter arrived and knew something was wrong. But it was too late. The monitor had been lying for forty-four minutes. Every Engineer Should Be Terrified Of This Sentence "It works." The most dangerous sentence in engineering. When you say "it works," you mean: "In the scenarios I imagined, with the inputs I tested, the system behaved a...

Why Your Restlessness Is Not Anxiety But a Divine Wake-Up Call

Image
We think peace is found in silence, in comfort, in avoiding the storm. But the ancients knew a darker truth. " The shadow of your potential will never let you sleep in the bed of mediocrity." Read that again. The absence of peace isn't anxiety. It is your soul rejecting the counterfeit version of your life. It is the agony of a vision that is bigger than your current reality. The Shallow Interpretation vs. The Deep Truth Most people hear a quote like this and think it means "ambition is stressful." That is shallow. The deeper truth is this: The most critical moment in your life is not when you fail. It is when you see a glimpse of your true potential, and realize you are still living beneath it. Your conscience is not a pillow, it is a compass. The discomfort you feel isn't a burden to be medicated with distractions, entertainment, or mediocrity. It is a summons. It is the divine call to close the gap between the person you are and the person you were meant ...

Beyond the Applause: The Unpaid Debt We Owe Our Teachers

Image
The Morning After The silence of a classroom after the decorations have been taken down, after the speeches have been made, after the last slice of cake has been eaten. It is the silence of a teacher sitting alone in an empty staff room, staring at a plaque that cannot pay rent. October 5th was Teacher's Day. Today is three days after. And the teacher is still owed. The Architecture of Neglect We have built a system that celebrates teachers in theory and neglects them in practice. We have created a culture where it is acceptable to praise teachers publicly while refusing to pay them adequately privately. We have normalized the idea that a teacher's reward is not material but spiritual that they should be satisfied with the knowledge that they are shaping lives.  But you cannot feed a family with the knowledge that you are shaping lives. You cannot pay school fees with a plaque. You cannot build a future on the backs of people you refuse to pay. The Martyr Myth We call teache...
